Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.
We are seeking a Bank Support Assistant to join our team based at Victoria Road. Our supported living service provides support for young people aged 16 to 25, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, by encouraging them to develop their skills, and learn to live independently.
There are 10 fully furnished en-suite rooms, two emergency bedrooms and a one-bedroom move-on apartment. If you are looking for a varied and rewarding role, this is a great opportunity to come and work within a hardworking and client-focused team.
We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

The role of Bank Support Assistant will include:
Providing a high quality, hands-on support service
Supporting residents with personal care and administering medication
Encouraging residents to develop their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being a part of their community
Encouraging social inclusion and helping residents to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem
Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our residents
Conducting bed calls and morning calls to a high standard
Maintaining a safe environment for residents, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices
Skills and experiences:
Previous experience working with vulnerable adults, ideally with those who have learning disabilities and/or mental health needs
A caring, approachable nature and a confident ‘can-do’ attitude
Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information to team members
Literacy and numeracy equivalent to at least GCSE Grade C English and Mathematics, is essential
NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is desirable
