The Job Opportunity
The Norsea Terminal is recruiting for a Mechanical/Rotating Equipment Technician (contract position) – Start Date: ASAP
The position will be a contract role working for NES Fircroft.
Reporting to the Rotating Equipment Supervisor, the candidate will e responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing rotating mechanical equipment/components/machines and other mechanical elements to achieve optimum efficiency and availability.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role
Project Document Control:
To interpret job requirements from preventative maintenance instruction, specifications and / or other documentation
Install rotating mechanical equipment in accordance with established standards, limits, fits, tolerances, procedures and guidelines
To maintain and repair rotating mechanical equipment with established standards, limits, fits, tolerances, with established PM routines, procedures and guidelines.
Support the ISSOW process and adopt the role of Permit Acceptor as appropriate
Provide feedback on all maintenance tasks to allow collation of asset history
Diagnose physical cause of rotating equipment breakdown/failure and propose/complete repairs to the site standards and engage technical resources qas needed to support operations
Generate SAP Materials Requisition for work orders and projects
Create SAP notifications for defects
Assist in reviews and development of relevant procedures, PM routines and risk assessments
Respond to any out of hours call out
Assist the planning department in the planning of PM01 and PM02 jobs as directed by the supervisor, as part of fallback work
Prepare jobs for execution in support of the schedule under direction, as part of fallback work including but not limited to checking scaffold, withdrawing spares, preparing tools etc
Undertake and record After Action Reviews to improve job planning and execution
Competency Requirements;
Relevant approved apprenticeship/NVQ level 3 or equivalent – Essential
Minimum City & Guilds / ONC certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent – Essential
Strong knowledge of rotating and reciprocating equipment (turbines/pumps/compressors) – Essential
Extensive experience in a maintenance role within the oil and gas industry – Desirable
Hold a Full UK driving licence and to drive company vehicles where appropriate – Essential
Ability to use Microsoft packages and SAP – Essential
Appropriate Physical and Mental Capability to undertake the role (Work at Height, Work in Confined Spaces, Ability to wear Breathing Apparatus) – Essential
