SUMMARY
The Director of DC/OFC Operations directs and implements the operational strategy, best practices, and systems for overall distribution and fulfillment operations. Establishes KPIs and sets performance targets for all distribution an fulfillment related functions. Implements data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies and develop optimization strategies. Responsible for the coordinating and managing of the daily operation of a multiple site distribution and fulfillment network. In addition, Director of DC/OFC Operations is accountable for the safe, efficient, and economical performance of the operation with focus on Safety, Accuracy, Productivity and Housekeeping. Budgeting improvement of processes to ensure customers’ needs are being met in terms of quality and cost effective logistics services is expected while maintaining corporate values and objectives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Position the distribution and Fulfillment center network to produce the highest level of performance, to build a strong and effective management team, and promote best practices in all aspects of operations
- Maintain a safe work environment through OSHA compliance and safety training.
- Motivate a productive leadership team and recommends development strategies to GMs. Mentors management team on operational and performance gaps; promotes forward-looking decisions that require change to operational or employee processes, functions, or organizational structure
- Evaluate material handling system, methods and procedures; recommends improvements to achieve future capacity and growth requirements
- Monitor all aspects of the operation to ensure budget goals and key performance Indicators are being met or exceeded.
- Drive continuous improvement and lean culture to support the strategy, and new processes and systems to provide scalability and flexibility to the organization
- Work cross functionally with key stake holders to enhance planning, accountability, and efficiency in both up and down stream processes
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- 4 -5 Direct reports
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to travel 30-50% to visit DCs and OFC
- Must be able to walk the distribution center floor throughout an 8-10 hour day
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Analytical skills; ability to make analyses of detailed reports relating to sales, volume, payroll and employee turnover, and monthly operational and capital expense budgets.
- Ability to apply principals of logic or rational thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Ability to accomplish tasks/goals through effective delegation and follow-up.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good oral and written communication.
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, payroll/personnel systems; Warehouse Management System.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education Minimum: Bachelors Degree
Education Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Business or Logistics
Experience Minimum: 10 yrs Distribution and Ecom experience managing a labor intensive, SKU intensive, high volume, multi- facility operation. Knowledge of warehouse management systems
