To ensure machinery breakdowns and repairs are controlled in a timely manner and at minimum cost to production. To work off your own initiative and prioritise the workload as provided by the Maintenance Manager. Itis essential to be able to communicate effectively and understand written and verbal communication. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES: To be committed to and champion a strong SHEQ culture on site. Ensure that you always work to safe working practices and current training standards. To comply with the requirements of Health and Safety, Risk Management and any other relevant legislation and company policies. Execute a complete TPM plan for the Rushden site as directed by the Maintenance Manager Liaise with the Shift Manager if assistance is required from the production operatives for TPM requirements or breakdowns where appropriate. To prioritise maintenance engineering duties as required on a daily basis or as directed by the Maintenance Manager. Record, monitor all breakdowns by working to strict KPIs for each area of the equipment and ensure the underlying root causes are passed to the Maintenance Manager to action. Knowledge of sustaining lean principles such as TPM, 5S and Poke Yoke is advantageous. To work with the maintenance engineering team and where required fill in on shifts for holidays and assisting on TPMs or breakdowns to ensure all Operations objectives and commercial commitments are met. Communicate to the Maintenance Manager and other Departmental Leads all parts that need to be ordered. Initiate and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs. Monitor operations of plant equipment and systems and make observations. To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job, as requested by the Maintenance Manager or his designate. EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND Requirements of aMaintenance Engineer: Essential Desired -Mechanically trained to HNC / HND level -Time served experience of at least ten years in a similar industry (conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings etc…) -Welding qualification or experience -Effective Communicator at all levels -Experience of using Ladders / Scaffolding / MEWP -Ability to demonstrate a high level of technical competence. -Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated and driven to achieve set targets -Experience working with TPM schedules -IOSH Managing Safely -LEAN Six Sigma green belt -Forklift truck License -IPAF license
