18 month contract – Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station (Travelling required)

About the role:

NRL are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to work at Hartlepool Power Station on an exciting new contract, for a leading client in the Power generation sector. Our client operates in 130 countries and has developed pioneering technology that has transformed the world of power generation.

Our client is looking for someone to be based at Hartlepool, Monday to Friday but would then be required to travel to other nuclear outages during the 18 month contract. Other planned outages during 2023 and 2024 are, Heysham 1 and 2, Hartlepool, Sizewell and Torness.

As this role is based on nuclear sites, the successful applicant must go through a Counter Terrorism Check, which will be facilitated and processed by NRL.

Responsibilities:

As Mechanical Fitter you would be required to support internal and external customers with stripdown, instillations, and maintenance of power units. This role includes undertaking the following duties on a daily basis:

–          Undertaking maintenance on mechanical equipment
–          Install machinery and equipment in accordance to plans and technical engineering drawings
–          Working as a team and alone to satisfy customer requirements
–          Report all anomalies, safety hazards, plant damage and specific problems to site supervisor or manager
–          Pre Outage preparation work
–          Large turbine and generator overhauls
–          Requirement to travel for long periods of time during outages
–          Develop strong customer relationships and serve as an interface between the customer and our client
–          Use understanding of mechanical measuring techniques to high tolerance
–          Adhere to strict health and safety policies

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, the successful candidate must have one of the below:

–          Recognised Time Served Apprenticeship
–          HNC
–          City & Guilds or NVQ Equivalent in a Mechanical Qualification

A CCNSG safety passport is also required to start on site

Experience working on Gas or Steam turbines is desirable but not mandatory
