We are currently looking for a Mechanical Technician for our client based at Hartlepool power station. This is a contract role to run for 12 months. The role falls inside IR35 Based at Hartlepool Power Station, the successful candidate will deliver mechanical installation tasks at Hartlepool Power Station during the stat outage. They will be responsible for ensuring they perform installation and commissioning activities safely and to the right quality standards. As an outage role extended shifts and weekend working are expected. Responsibilities The Mechanical Technician shall: 1) Report to their appointed Cavendish Engineer/Supervisor for all matters relating to safety and quality. 2) Undertake all work as instructed by the Engineer/Supervisor to the requirements of the task documentation (i.e. Quality Plans, Method Statement; Risk Assessments etc.), with due care to minimise the potential for inadvertent disturbance to site plant or equipment. 3) Comply in addition to the above-mentioned documents, with all other relevant safety instructions as identified through Cavendish management. 4) Walkdown tasks in advance when requested as part of ensuring readiness for installation activities. 5) Ensure they attend a pre-job brief before performing any work and take a full part in the meeting. 6) Perform work whilst avoiding danger to themselves and to others that might be affected by their acts or omissions. 7) Ensure documentation, including drawings and records are kept and tracked as appropriate. If at any point documentation cannot be complied with then stop and seek advise from task supervision. 8) Report all anomalies, safety hazards, plant damage and specific problems through the Site Manager/Engineer/Supervisor before proceeding further. 9) Refrain from defeating or interfering with, anything provided in the interests of Health and Safety (PPE, fire extinguishers etc.) or environmental protection. 10) Use plant and equipment correctly, and in accordance with training and instruction provided. 11) Ensure they only use approved work instructions to comply with the requirements of the design intent. 12) Adopt at all times the S*T*A*R*T principle. Stop, Think, Act, Review and Tell whilst engaged on all types of works on site. 13) Complete a Point of Work Risk Assessment before undertaking any task. 14) Attend and input to Pre & Post Job De-Briefs. These duties are project specific and in addition to those described in the Company and project manuals and procedures. He/she shall ensure that they are familiar with these documents, and any legislation to which they refer. Candidates will need to be CTC cleared and hold a CCNSG Safety passport.
