Salary/ Pay rate/ Benefits: Umbrella £33.00 per hour
PAYE £25.12 per hour
Location: Hartlepool
Hours of work: 37hr working week (Monday-Thursday)
Applicants must have experience of the following:
-Must hold CTC Clearance, active and valid
-Essential experience working on an EDF site/Nuclear experience on an EDF site
-Mechanical experience or equivalent
-Must have a minimum level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering field
-Must hold a safety passport/CCNSG

Role information:
Based at Hartlepool Power Station, the successful candidate will deliver mechanical installation tasks at Hartlepool Power Station. They will be responsible for ensuring they perform installation and commissioning activities safely and to the right quality standards. As a role focused on project delivery there is an expectation that a reasonable amount of overtime and weekend working may be required to ensure projects are delivered to deadlines.

Responsibilities

The Mechanical Technician shall:

-Report to their appointed Engineer/Supervisor for all matters relating to safety and quality.

-Undertake all work as instructed by the Engineer/Supervisor to the requirements of the task documentation (i.e. Quality Plans, Method Statement; Risk Assessments etc.), with due care to minimise the potential for inadvertent disturbance to site plant or equipment.

-Comply in addition to the above-mentioned documents, with all other relevant safety instructions as identified through the company management.

-Walkdown tasks in advance when requested as part of ensuring readiness for installation activities.

-Ensure they attend a pre-job brief before performing any work and take a full part in the meeting.

-Perform work whilst avoiding danger to themselves and to others that might be affected by their acts or omissions.

-Ensure documentation, including drawings and records are kept and tracked as appropriate. If at any point documentation cannot be complied with then stop and seek advise from task supervision.

-Report all anomalies, safety hazards, plant damage and specific problems through the Site Manager/Engineer/Supervisor before proceeding further.

-Refrain from defeating or interfering with, anything provided in the interests of Health and Safety (PPE, fire extinguishers etc.) or environmental protection.

-Use plant and equipment correctly, and in accordance with training and instruction provided.

-Ensure they only use approved work instructions to comply with the requirements of the design intent.

-Adopt at all times the S*T*A*R*T principle. Stop, Think, Act, Review and Tell whilst engaged on all types of works on site.

-Complete a Point of Work Risk Assessment before undertaking any task.

-Attend and input to Pre & Post Job De-Briefs.
