So to support or busy team in the North East we are looking to recruit two additional Project Quantity Surveyors to take on new projects.

The opportunity

We are therefore keen to attract Surveyors from a variety of QS backgrounds – Consultancy, Client-side, Contractor and/or Sub-contractor, from all sectors. It is our belief that team success is derived from a positive and agile approach, being ready to challenge and improve the status quo and focusing on project goals and objectives. Technical skills can be developed over time, but it is this crucial ‘can do’ attitude which will ultimately have true project impact. Bespoke onboarding programmes mean you will be supported to swiftly adapt to new sectors and disciplines, and our close-knit team will work hard to ensure new team members quickly feel part of the Company and its goals.

Working as a Project Surveyor for Solomons Europe, you will act as a professional QS advisor, integrated into client projects across the region. Ideally, you will be fully conversant with contract administration and project control aspects, preferably under NEC3 and 4 forms of contract, and capable of acting in as a senior member of the commercial team , supervise and mentor other members of the team, full management of subcontract procurement, administration and cost forecasting. Your knowledge and desire to do the best job possible for your client, will help to ensure successful project outcomes for your clients on challenging and exciting projects.

You should

Be educated to degree level or equivalent in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management / Engineering BSc (HNC/HND qualified candidates with the relevant experience may be considered).

Ideally MRICS, however support and sponsorship will be provided to attain this level to those who are appointed and have proven experience to this level in the alternative

Ideally have proven experience of the NEC3/4®.

Have good contractual awareness and experience of the effective control and administration of change provisions.

Be commercially aware and skilled in project commercial reporting (CVR’s, Project status reports, Subcontract Management, Procurement, etc.)

Ideally, have experience working in the process, energy, engineering and/or infrastructure industries.

Have a full UK driving licence (essential due to the locations of Client sites and Solomons Offices)
